Spain lost the second member of its squad called up by Luis de la Fuente on Friday after Paulo Torres was allowed to leave training camp. Lamine Yamal has withdrawn from the squad with an ankle problem and has been replaced by Brian Gill.
The national team announced on Tuesday that they would miss the Aston Villa star after he was sent home with muscle discomfort. Spain said he felt unwell on arrival and had decided to allow him to leave in order to avoid injury.
The Reds have yet to announce a potential replacement for Torres. De la Fuente has Dani Vivian and Aymeric Laporte as back-up at centre-back, as well as Atlético’s Aito Paredes, who has been called up for the first time and will make his debut. Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi also missed the game with a facial injury.
